Nancy is the energetic force that sustains a family's annual reunion on the coast of Maine. It's held on land that has been in the family since colonial times. Today, it's used as a rustic spot for family members to spend a few summer weeks to get back to nature and away from the heat.

A lone swimmer enjoys a morning dip in the shadow of Diamond Head at Waikiki. I was lucky to find the normally crowded beach so empty. I was even luckier that one swimmer was there to give scale to the scene.

My wife had always wanted to visit a slot canyon. Technically, a slot canyon is one narrow enough so that a person can touch both sides at once. Her expression is what it looks like at the precise moment when you achieve something that has been on your bucket list.
